Season 3 I have a new line launching for the show and here is one of my favorites I made yesterday.

In its simplest form the symbol for Hamsa is the hand. It is talismanic symbol that historically it has been believed it would protect people from harm against the evil forces and bring them goodness, abundance, fertility, luck and good health.

I mixed it with a Swarokski octagon crystal my company and personal talisman.

The liars need protection as well as direction., which of the Eightfold Path will the take.

I think all us moms should reinstatement the proclamation. It is why two little words “yes” and “no” are so important for us all to have the power to say. Yes to peace and no to war.

Friday I was in my office with a very powerful and confident women (who shall remain nameless) but is in the publicity business.
I am looking pretty pulled together, my friend is always a fashion “it” girl and suddenly we see cute, beautiful, pregnant Reese Witherspoon talking on her cell by my office door.

My confident friend freezes and I hide. We are up down up down…looking and not moving. I am telling her to lean a bag against her chair it goes on and on.

Are you kidding me? My friends job is working with stars and promoting lines and I have seen and met Reese a number of times. What is it that can make two grown confident women shrink with girlish glee at the proximity of a celebrating and then hide!

It hit me. They really are “stars” and my friend and I really are scared-e-cats. So here I am in the shadows….

Here is the set up. My son and I our watching TV alone after a nice family dinner.

He is working on his computer I am drawing a new design we are cozy ensconced on the couch. With 4 kids we are rarely alone watching anything. The show Boardwalk Empire is playing and neither of us is glued to it but its on. Did you see this episode? Well all I can say is everything turned weird, x rated, went totally south before I could think about where the remote was.

Here is a fast recap if you do not know the show. A very young pretty mom has a older son. All adults. The mom has too much to drink and her gallant son is helping her get into her bed. All of sudden the mom makes her move (I cringe writing it) and they clearly engage in the act that brought her child into the world. It is all murky and fast, nothing too visual but you are left KNOWING they got it on. No doubt about it.

Silence …all I mutter is “well”

My son is staring at his computer screen without skipping a beat says “Don’t get any ideas”!

I laugh just thinking about it. In a crazy world with too much information the only way I survive is with some humor and I am glad it has worn off on my son. Any awkward parenting moments you would like to share?

P.S. I am a bit more careful about whats on TV.

Can you tell which is Vegan and which is animal?

I sat next to a very smart women associated with the show on my flight from Atlanta to LA a few hours after my mother had passed away. I was exhausted and a bit numb and the last thing I wanted to do was talk at all, but we are about the same age and eventually talked work and kids and exchanged emails. A few weeks later I emailed her and we met for coffee where I explained to her about my mother and how I found her side of the entertainment industry inspiring… One thing led to another which led to a Heather Belle Co. line inspired by Pretty Little Liars!

It is such a cliche, but life happens while you’re making other plans. I was open to listening and thinking about life affirming ideas and became inspired. This partnership came about from a random moment I never could have planned for. Have you ever had a moment like this??

I found these Dolce Vita wedges in the back seat of my girl friends car. I bought them in black and cognac – BTW they are insanely comfortable and on sale at Macy’s!!!

I paired them with wide leg jeans, a navy Micheal Kors lose fitting top, my Octagon bangles, Yes/No necklace and the Georgia Messenger in Orange. Loving orange for year round color!
